Truliant Named #1 Best Place to Work for Second Consecutive Year
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 6, 2018) – Truliant Federal Credit Union was recently named first-place winner in Triad Business Journal’s 2018 Best Places to Work Extra-Large Employers category. It is the second consecutive year Truliant has won the honor.
The publication sought nominations in print, online, and social media for the award. Quantum Workplace, an Omaha, Neb.-based research firm, surveyed employees at nominated companies. Employees evaluated their employer on points designed to measure ten key engagement categories including team effectiveness; trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, manager effectiveness, compensation and benefits.
Truliant was named as number one in the Extra-Large Employers category of companies with 300+ employees. The credit union has more than 500 employees in the Piedmont Triad and a total of more than 650 throughout its footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
The credit union has pioneered a mission-driven, member-focused, dynamic, engaging, collaborative workplace that operates on a belief of putting members first.
“Receiving this designation two years in a row is a strong testament to our shared sense of purpose at Truliant,” said Todd Hall, president. “We are committed to maximizing our teams’ potential to deliver a superior experience focused on improving our members' lives and to promoting an engaging, fun and fulfilling workplace where people are valued. Thank you to our employees, members, advisors, Board, and sponsor companies.”
Truliant supports and engages its employees through several employee focused functions, including its annual TruFest celebration, bringing together its entire workforce for a day of fun, entertainment and special games; onsite gym at its headquarters and tuition reimbursement; and its Family Fun Day at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury this spring, an event filled with giveaways and entertainment.
Additionally, employees participate in activities and fundraisers organized by fellow co-workers to give back their communities, and take advantage of opportunities to showcase their talent and commitment for causes supported by Truliant.
The credit union offers a rich benefits package, including medical, dental and vision and short-and long-term disability. Employees are also provided a pension plan, 401(K) with matching employer contributions and life insurance benefits. Earlier this year, Truliant raised its minimum wage to $15 per hour.
“Truliant is a vibrant and rewarding place to work with a compelling mission, great benefits and outstanding workforce,” said Sherri Thomas, senior vice president, human resources and organizational development. “This award is especially invaluable as employees' experiences and feedback are at the core of the honor. It shows that our dedication to a diverse, collaborative and inclusive work environment – where people embrace making a difference by helping member-owners achieve their goals – creates a best-in-class workplace."
