Truliant Names Thomas Chief Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (September 6, 2018) – Truliant Federal Credit Union has promoted Sherri Thomas to the role of chief human resources and organizational development officer.

Thomas is responsible for: employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting, and organizational development, which includes employee training and skill development. Her role was recently expanded to include leadership of community affairs, community engagement and outreach, state and local government affairs, and Truliant At Work – the credit union’s B2B workplace benefits program.

“Sherri is a talented and trusted leader who exemplifies our culture and lives our mission,” said Truliant President Todd Hall. “She understands our member-owners and has done a tremendous job of placing – and retaining – talented individuals throughout our organization. It is because of her dedication, passion for people and innate leadership qualities that she has deservingly received this promotion.”

Thomas joined Truliant in 2010 as regional director of Truliant’s Central Region of Member Financial Centers. In 2011, she was named vice president of member experience for the Member Financial Center network. In 2013 she became vice president of member experience for Truliant’s Member Contact Center and Member Channel Support. Thomas played a key role in skills assessment, training needs, coaching and employee development.

In 2014, she was named vice president of organizational development and recruiting, overseeing the implementation of Truliant’s new applicant tracking system. In 2017, she became senior vice president of human resources and organizational development, leading efforts that increased the credit union’s minimum hourly wage to $15 in March. In 2017 and 2018, Truliant was named a Best Places to Work award winner by
Triad Business Journal.

Thomas has a master’s degree in business administration from Elon University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She lives in Oak Ridge, N.C. with her husband Ronald and three sons.
